Our Goal is to effectively meet and pursue the goal of Healthy People 2010, the board of health and the Cambridge Guernsey County Health Department staff work to fulfill these core public health functions:

  •     Identify community health problems

The health department currently offers women’s health services through the family planning clinic operated at the health department. This clinic provides women’s health care (pap tests, clinical breast exam, mammogram referrals, pelvicexams, routine lab work), family planning education, supplies, counseling and referrals for smoking cessation. Need a birth or death certificate?

The fee for each certified birth or death record is $22.00.

The Cambridge Guernsey County can now provide you with a birth certificate if you were born in the state of Ohio.  In 2010 the health department was granted access to  provide birth certificates from the Ohio Department of Health statewide issuance site.

The Cambridge Guernsey County Health Department is pleased to announce the completion of the Community Health Assessment.  The project was a joint effort with the Noble County Health Department and  funded through the Ohio Department of Health.  Two meetings were conducted with a diverse group of community leaders and stakeholders from each county.  Surveys were sent to Guernsey county residents for completion by mail or online. A total of 2,200 addresses were randomly selected to receive the survey in Noble and Guernsey counties.  In total 572 Guernsey county residents completed the survey. The community health assessment is posted on the health department website at guernseycountyhealthdepartment.org.  


The Cambridge Guernsey County Health Department will now begin work on the 
Community Health Improvement Plan.  This process will use the data from the assessment to prioritize and form work groups to complete work plans for the issues identified in the assessment. 

There will be two planning/workgroup meetings for the CHIP process.  The first meeting will be on Friday, September 8, 2017 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Crossroads Library , 63500 Byesville Road, Cambridge, Ohio.  The second meeting will be on Monday, October 23, 2017 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.  The public is invited to attend these meetings.  Please RSVP to This email address is being protected from spambots.
