Situation Summary

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is closely monitoring an outbreak of respiratory illness caused by a novel (new) coronavirus first identified in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. Chinese authorities identified the new coronavirus, which has resulted in more than a thousand confirmed cases in China, including cases outside Wuhan City. Additional cases have been identified in a growing number of other international locations, including the United States. There are ongoing investigations to learn more.

The Guernsey County Health Department does not provide sick care, treatment, or testing for COVID-19. If you are sick, contact your primary care provider (PCP). If you do not have a PCP call Muskingum Valley Health Center at 740-891-9000 to schedule an appointment. It is important that you call and have a scheduled appointment before arrival to your PCP.

If you have a cough or any respiratory symptoms:
Cover your mouth with a scarf, mask, or other barrier
Avoid contact with others
Wash hands and sanitize often
Cover your mouth with tissue or sleeve when sneezing
