New School Immunization Requirements
for 7th and 12th Graders

Ohio immunization requirements for school attendance have changed, affecting students entering the 7th and 12th grades. Students entering the 7th grade for the 2016-2017 school year will be required to have a dose of meningococcal vaccine, in addition to the previously required dose of Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) vaccine.

Students entering the 12th grade are now required to have two doses of meningococcal vaccine for school entry for the 2016-17 school year. If the student received their first dose of meningococcal vaccine on or after their 16th birthday, only one dose of the vaccine is required for school entry.

Immunizations are available through private physicians, as well as at the Cambridge-Guernsey County Health Department. Immunizations are available on a walk-in basis at the Cambridge-Guernsey County Health Department on Mondays from 2:00pm-5:00pm and Fridays from 8:00am-4:00pm. Beginning Monday, July 18th, immunizations will also be available on Mondays from 9:00am-11:00am. In addition to regular immunization hours, the Cambridge-Guernsey County Health Department will host two afternoon/evening back-to-school immunizations clinics:
