(Monday through Friday)
8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
TB skin testing is provided by the health department during walk in hours on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. *TB testing cannot be done on Thursdays*
You must return to the health department during the walk in hours 2 to 3 days after the nurse administers the TB test. A nurse must look at the area of testing to confirm if the test is positive or negative.
If you have not had a TB skin test previously or if it has been longer than one year since your last TB skin test, you may need to have 2 stage test. This means you will need to have a second TB skin test done at least one week after the first test and return in two day to have the area of testing checked by the nurse.
If you had a TB skin test within the last year at another agency, it is your responsibility to provide us with a copy of the record of testing and results of the reading.
The cost of the TB skin testing is $10.00 for each testing. If you have medicaid coverage you must bring your insurance card to receive the testing. Please check with your employer to see if they have had made prior arrangements for payment.
Head checks are provided during the walk in hours only. A nurse will check for live bugs and nits (eggs) during the visit. If bug and nit free the child will receive a card to return to school. If the child is not cleared, education services will be provided and the child must return during walk in hours to be checked again until cleared.
You must bring your insurance card if you have medicaid coverage for service. Medicaid coverage does include prescription medicine for lice. You will be given a prescription at the time of service if needed.
